CyDesign is developing a physics-based modeling system that will let the engineer quickly assess design options against requirements during the conceptual design stage. Should the vehicle have conventional or hybrid drive? How will thermal loads affect an implanted medical device? By providing answers to these questions early in the design, a more robust and reliable system will be built.

CyDesign Studio will help the engineer gather requirements, keep them pertinent to the design, explore the trade space of possible design alternatives, assess the viability of these alternatives, and provide guidance resulting in a much better final product.

POSITION: SENIOR ENGINEER, MODEL-BASED DESIGN

The Senior Engineer will work closely with the Director of Model-Based Systems Engineering to develop system dynamics models to represent and simulate the behavior of complex cyber-electromechanical systems. The position will collaborate with the Design Tools Engineering Group to help define and utilize the model-based design optimization tools developed by the Design Tools Engineering Group. This engineer will also evaluate third party and open source software tools for inclusion in system.

REQUIREMENTS:

MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
Minimum of 5 years experience in modeling and simulation in a relevant industrial domain
Demonstrated expertise in modeling and simulation of physical systems with emphasis on thermodynamics, fluid, mechanical, and electrical domains
Software development and numerical computing experience
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

DESIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of Modelica
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
CAE/finite element analysis experience
Customer interaction experience (e.g., sales engineering)
Background in product lifecycle management (PLM)
CyDesign is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Due to national security matters related to some of our projects, US Citizenship or US permanent residency is a requirement for this position.
