We currently have an opening within our Smart Services team in Milwaukee an outstanding data scientist with experience in designing, developing and delivering data driven solutions that have a direct and measurable impact. This person will work with virtually every area of the business to help identify impactful data analysis strategies and solutions, and then take the lead on delivering data-driven insights that improve our productivity, profitability, innovative ability, and consumer/market understanding. This role requires a broad knowledge of existing data mining and machine learning technique algorithms, and approaches and the ability to create, invent and innovate. The successful candidate will become part of a world-class Analytics team. Responsibilities for this position include:
•Work on large data sets of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to discover insights.
• Collaborate with business partners to deliver business value through data-driven insights.
• Combine strengths in data mining, applied statistics, and data visualization with a proven ability to translate findings into actionable solutions for business partners.
• Develop data analysis solutions based on predictive, behavioral or other models via statistical analysis and use of relevant modeling techniques.
• Work with Line of Business teams to introduce a healthy sense of exploration to drive business insights.
• MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, or other quantitative discipline.
•5+ years industry experience conducting statistical analyses using any of the following: Python, R, SPSS, SAS, StatSoft, RapidMiner, Weka, or other statistical analysis software.
• Experience addressing real-world analytic problems using quantitative approaches and have a passion for generating insights from data.
• Proven experience in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
• Strong knowledge of a wide-range of statistical methods, and particularly in the areas of modeling and business analytics.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
• Proficiency with MS Excel including using pivot tables, charts, graphs, lookups and advanced functions.
• Strong working knowledge of data mining algorithms, including decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering algorithms, multivariate regression, neural networks, times series data, and Bayesian Analyses.
