Position: Senior Software Engineer
Description
Ridgetop Group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the research and development of its foundation Prognostics Health Management (PHM) application, Sentinel NetworkTM, at its headquarters in Tucson, Arizona. This position requires involvement in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including requirements, design, validation, deployment, documentation, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Participate in research, identification, evaluation, and development of PHM software systems
Analyze, design, program, and debug software used in local, networked, and Internet-related environments
Use of software engineering best practices and open-source Java projects
Modification and reuse of existing code for software enhancements
Support process improvement activities both within the department and company-wide
Work both independently and in a team environment, with the opportunity to provide technical leadership to other members of the engineering team
Create and/or modify specification documents detailing system design and enhancements to meet marketing requirements
Collaborate with others in the creation of technical reports, whitepapers, and user documentation
Provide on-going client support and maintenance
Requirements
ECE or CS degree with at least 5 years of software engineering experience
Demonstrated team leadership ability, including strong time management, task prioritization, and interpersonal skills
Understanding and application of OOD, DDD, ORM and related software design concepts
Experience with relational and object-relational databases and ability to write complex SQL
Expertise in networking and TCP/IP protocol
Strong Java/Ajax/Flash programming skills and GUI design
Use of integrated development environments such as Eclipse
Use of source control management tools such as Subversion
Microsoft/Linux/UNIX system administration experience
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Understanding of application of design patterns to software development
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to rapidly grasp technical concepts and solutions
High level of personal drive and self-motivation
Commitment to continuous improvement
Embedded systems design and firmware development experience is desirable
Prognostics industry knowledge is a plus, particularly with OSA-CBM methodologies
Some travel may be required for this position
Due to the nature of the projects we work on, US citizenship or legal permanent US residency status is highly desirable.

This is a full-time (40-hours per week) position on-site in Tucson, Arizona.
