Sr. Electronic Engineer
Ridgetop Group seeks a Senior Electronic Engineer to contribute to the research and development of innovative
component- and system-level diagnostic and prognostic solutions at its headquarters in Tucson, Arizona. The
successful candidate will join a team designing new system development, and novel diagnostics and prognostics
algorithm development capabilities. This position requires involvement in all phases of the product development
lifecycle, including requirements, research, design, validation, documentation, release, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Manage the design, layout, assembly, and debug of circuit boards
Design automated test procedures to validate and characterize electronic systems and components
Design and conduct laboratory experiments in support of new prognostic methodologies and solutions
Support process improvement activities both within the department and company-wide
Work both independently and in a team environment, with the opportunity to provide technical leadership
to other members of the engineering team
Create and/or modify specification documents detailing system design and enhancements to meet
marketing requirements
Collaborate with others in the creation of technical reports, proposals, whitepapers, and user
documentation
Provide on-going client support and maintenance
Requirements
MS in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or in a related
field. BS with 5 years of relevant experience also acceptable
Use of: simulation environments such as MATLAB and PSPICE; schematic capture/layout tools such as
Eagle, version control tools such as Subversion, Microsoft Excel for storing and analyzing data
Familiarity with LabVIEW and National Instruments data acquisition systems
Knowledge of communications protocols, including RS-232, CAN, and TCP/IP
Strong circuit design and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; time management, task prioritization, and
interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to rapidly grasp technical concepts and solutions
Embedded systems design and firmware development experience
Language-based FPGA programming is a plus, particularly with Xilinx and Altera tools
The desired optional skills:
Fault detection and diagnosis methods
System diagnostics and prognostic expertise
Digital signal processing algorithms
Proficiency in LabVIEW
Experience in proposal writing
Experience in power systems and electrical engineering systems a strong plus
Experience in Prognostics Health Management (PHM) industry not strictly required, but a strong plus
U.S. citizenship or permanent U.S. residency (Green Card) is required.
